Tips for enhanced success:
Follow these guidelines to boost your powers of astral projection and lucid dreaming.
1. Keep a nightly dream journal
Write down EVERY dream image you remember EVERY morning and within a few weeks your ability to recall dreams and astral adventures in detail will skyrocket. If you don't remember ANY dreams from the night then instead write in your dream journal the feelings that you have on waking. Just make sure you write something every single morning. Don't be lazy with this! Remember that this is your chance to show your higher self that you are ready and listening for guidance into the higher realms. It wont be long before you will be rewarded for your dedication.
2. Practice REALITY CHECKS throughout the day
A REALITY CHECK is a simple test that you do to check if you are currently in the astral realm or not. It can be any number of actions, but I will recommend to pull on your little finger - if you are currently in your physical body then nothing much will happen, but if you are in your astral body then your little finger will stretch easily when you pull it, like it is made of rubber. If you do this REALITY CHECK dozens of times during the day, it is likely that you will eventually perform the check while you are dreaming, and your finger will stretch, and you will become lucid within the dream. Set an alarm on your phone, stick reminder notes around your home and work, or get into the habit of doing the REALITY CHECK with regular daily tasks (preferably the tasks that you often find yourself dreaming about). Do whatever it takes, just remember to do your REALITY CHECK multiple times throughout the day, the more often the better.
3. Lucid living = lucid dreaming
Lucidity is a skill that spans our waking and sleeping lives, and lucidity is simply another word for AWARENESS. Practicing awareness during the day will super-enhance your lucid dreaming and astral projection abilities at night. Awareness just means to be observant of where you are and how you are feeling. Its very simple to be aware, however its incredibly easy to forget to be aware. A manageable and effective way to maintain an awareness routine is to use the following 1-2 minute awareness technique consistently after you do your reality checks.
THE NINE BREATH AWARENESS TECHNIQUE
1. Spend three breaths LOOKING AROUND at your surroundings in as much detail as you can, keeping a sharp eye out for anything that might suggest that you are dreaming right now. Where are you right now? Who are you with? What are you doing here? Is anything unusual or out of the ordinary?
2. Spend the next three breaths LISTENING to every sound that you can hear right now. Close your eyes and put your full awareness onto noticing every sound.
3. Spend the next three breaths focussing on your INTERNAL FEELINGS and emotions. Don't try to change them, just notice and feel what is going on for you right now... are you warm? Cold? What emotions are flowing through you right now?
Do this routine AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN, preferably after every REALITY CHECK, that is DOZENS of times a day. You might feel that you are too busy for this, but the whole routine will only take 1-2 minutes and believe me you are usually spending FAR MORE minutes of your day thinking about absolutely pointless and inconsequential things. If you are too busy to practice awareness during your day, you will certainly be too 'busy' to become lucid during your dream. So take control and force yourself to focus on the here-and-now by practising the NINE BREATH AWARENESS routine multiple times through the day, the benefits are vast for both your waking and dreaming life.
4. Practice astral projection at the right times
Astral projection and lucid dreaming are FAR easier to achieve in the early hours of the morning than any other time, so don't miss out on the golden opportunity that each morning provides. Set your alarm for about 2 hours before you usually wake up, when you wake get up out of bed and go to the bathroom, then get back in bed, put on an eye mask and headphones and listen to a guided meditation for astral projection and lucid dreaming. At the end of the meditation stay in bed and sleep until your regular wake-up time (or longer if its the weekend.)
Do this 2-3 mornings a week for best results, and experiment to find what works best for you because everybody's sleep cycle is unique. In my experience this is the best technique for achieving consistent astral travel, so if you haven't tried this yet then please do.
5. Lose your fear
The main fear of astral projection is a fear of death, because most of us have been taught that we don't leave our physical body until we die. But do you know that people have been safely astral projecting for THOUSANDS of years? And you are already unconsciously astral traveling every night when you sleep and dream... The worst thing that can happen to you in the astral realm is that you get scared and believe the danger to be real. Regular dreams can easily become nightmares because we believe we have no control over them. Lucid dreams are the opposite of nightmares - they are heavenly bliss because you are a magical creator, not a victim, and you are free from the burden of a physical body that can be hurt or damaged in any way. In the astral you are ALWAYS SAFE so don't let your fear control you. Entities encountered in the astral realm might try to scare you, but you are never in real danger so don't forget it.
6. Diet and health
The perfect diet for astral projection is a raw, organic, vegan diet. This is a bit extreme for most of us, but leaning more towards this diet will help. You can do this by eating MORE organically-grown foods, MORE salads and fresh foods and LESS meat and animal foods.
Also, watch out for chemical exposure, fluoride and pollution. Drink three litres of pure water a day and practice yoga, meditation, chi gong and holistic exercise regularly.
7. Dedication and desire
Astral projection and lucid dreaming are skills that can take some time and persistence to achieve, longer still to master, and no one can do the work for you. But the more I experience and learn about lucid dreaming and astral projection, the more I understand the INCREDIBLE potential of these skills. And how these abilities accumulate over lifetimes of practice. Some people will succeed on their first attempt, for others it will take weeks, even months. If your progress seems a little slow, don't give up. Have faith and know that if you REALLY want it, you WILL achieve it, as long as you practice consistently.
